It is linked to chamar caste but historic sites show their link to higher caste. Unfair to say they are lower if they are not. Thank you
As far as I know megh are no where related to chamar. They are not Brahmins also. They are siblings of megh rishi who was in generations of Brahma. It is I know about megh but I am not sure about its truth
Mamotra is also surname of Meghan caste. We should come out from castes and sub castes .we are proudly Hindus

As per todays scenario......we should not make any discrimination on the basis of caste and religion and no caste is higher or lower.....now as per historical evidences and some facts Bhagat/meghwals were related to brahmins but may due to unknonwn reasons brahmin separated themeselves from meghwal but meghwaal smaaj was capable enough to practices there own panth with their own pandits and gurus.....which gives as clear veiw of interlink between brahmin and megh samaj....
